Where exactly is Carpathian Outlook?
The cabin sits on a hillside above Zărnești, in Brașov County, Romania. Bran Castle is about 12 minutes away by car, the Piatra Craiului national park about 25 minutes, and the centre of Brașov about 35 minutes.
How many guests can stay?
The cabin sleeps two. It is an open-plan space with a queen bed, one bathroom, and a living area with a kitchen.
Is Carpathian Outlook suitable for a romantic weekend for two?
Yes. There is no third bed, sofa bed or neighbouring unit, and only one couple is hosted at a time — the hillside, terrace and fire pit are effectively yours alone for the length of your stay.
Is there internet for remote work?
Yes. The cabin has Starlink satellite internet, which is fast and stable enough for video calls, and a desk with a view of the ridge.
Can I reach the cabin with a normal car?
Yes for most of the year. A short gravel track leads up from the road near Zărnești and is comfortable in a regular car from April to November. In deep winter we recommend winter tyres, and we can arrange a transfer from the village if conditions are poor.
Is parking available at the cabin?
Yes. There is a dedicated private parking spot right beside the cabin, accessible with a regular car in summer. Winter parking details are on the property rules page.
What is the minimum stay?
Two nights, and three nights over public holidays and the Christmas and New Year period.
Is firewood included?
Yes. Firewood for the outdoor fire pit is included in every stay, along with kindling and matches.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not permitted. The meadow is unfenced and borders working farmland and forest, so we ask guests to leave pets at home.
Can I book directly instead of through Airbnb or Booking.com?
Yes, and it is usually the better price. Message us the dates on WhatsApp and we confirm within a few hours. Our Airbnb and Booking.com listings carry the same calendar if you prefer to book on a platform you already use.
What is there to do nearby?
Bran Castle, the Râșnov citadel, the Zărnești gorge and the ridge trails of Piatra Craiului are the classics. Brașov's old town, the Libearty bear sanctuary near Zărnești and the Transfăgărășan in summer are all comfortable day trips.
When is the best time to visit?
Late May to early July for wildflower meadows and long evenings, September and October for clear air and autumn colour on the beech slopes, and January to February for snow and a warm fire pit evening. August is warmest and busiest around the castle.
The hillside is quiet. Come and have it to yourselves.
